Membership

We currently have over 300 members spread throughout 55 towers. Ringing members pay £5.00 per year and Junior (under 19) Ringing members pay £2.00 per year. Of these subscriptions £1.00 is automatically transferred to the Bell Restoration Fund.

New Members

The minimum qualification for Ringing membership is to be able to handle a bell and ring call changes competently.

Why join

The Society can offer you the opportunity to further your ringing, to ring and socialise with other members and to take part in the regular events we organise (usually on the third Saturday of each month). By subscribing you are supporting the work of the Bell Restoration Fund which provides grants to Society towers needing work. You also receive a welcome pack and a free copy of the Annual Report.

How to join

New members are elected at any of our Full Business Meetings (usually held on the 3rd Saturdays in January, March, June, September and November). New members are usually proposed by their Tower Captain and, by way of introduction, we hope that you would both be at your election meeting.

Insurance

All resident members and pupils are covered by our personal accident insurance policy of up to £5000 whilst ring, instructing, maintaining or doing any other work at any tower. Full details are available from the Treasurer.

Steepleage

When ringing at other towers it is customary to leave a donation to cover some of the costs of your visit. When the Society visits a tower as part of one of its calendar of events, the Secretary leaves a donation on behalf of all the visitors. This is paid for by the Society and is included within in subscription.

Peal Fees

When ringing peals rung for the Society it is customary to leave a donation to the tower. Many towers specify an amount, usually between £3.00 and £5.00. To be attributed to the Society and appear in the Annual Report, each member of the band must contribute £0.30 to be collected by the conductor. This goes towards the costing of printing the peals in full in the Annual Report.

Gift Aid

If you pay tax, all your donations to the Society can be Gift Aided using the following Gift Aid Form
